+500 Twilight is about lust, Harry Potter is about love, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

More like Twilight is about infatuation, and Harry Potter is about the war between good and evil. But that's just my opinion.

*Is eating popcorn* Posts like these are irritating if you don't like Twilight or Harry Potter, but it's fun to watch idiots making up reasons for why one is better. Want some popcorn?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not as much as an argument as a simple statement. If you looked, there are no arguments; just opinions. But thanks anyways for the popcorn.

I'm not saying I favor one over the other, because I actually haven't read all the Harry potter books, but I'm pretty sure twilight isn't all about lust. There's love in there.

WHY CANT WE JUST LIVE IN PEACE? I like both : (

Not saying the writing is of better quality, but Twilight is all about love (to the point of obsession). Meyer purposefully has the characters waiting to have sex until marriage...it's not lust.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Waiting to have sex until marriage doesn't mean it can't be lustful. I haven't read Twilight so I can't say for sure either way though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No I think it's lust, all Bella wants to do if have sex and doesn't respect Edwards beliefs.

The idea for Twilight came to Stephanie Meyer in a dream after she watched the Underworld movie...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The first Underworld movie was completely awesome, man. But if what you say is true, it makes me wonder how Stephanie Meyer managed to twisted it to a book about horny little 16 year girl that just wants SEX SEX SEX with a sparkly, 100 year old pedophile.

HP is m ore about friendship and good vs. evil

by Anonymous 13 years ago

More about friendship, but I get your point

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Love between family, love between friends. Romantic love, not so much.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Still could be considered synonymous to friendship, but yeah. Basically companionship, camaraderie and the like.

Both series are top-sellers, so apparently people like both. I feel this post was not a diss towards either. Harry Potter is more of something you can read to your kids and everything is fine (Even though it's for teenagers and adults too. I know I'll still be a fan when I'm old), while Twilight is more for the teenager/adult audience.

I though it was about magic...

Harry Potter overcame adversaries, conquered the most evil wizard of all time, escaped death, stayed true to his values, and saved millions of lives. Edward Cullen just sparkled. Harry Potter wins.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok so im not trying to diss twilight (scratch that I am) but HP is so much deeper than twilight and has more meaning its not all about jumping off a cliff if your boyfriend leaves. Ive read both full series and I wholeheartedly prefer HP to twilight.

Harry Potter grew up without parents and ended up still being a good person who could have fun. When he broke up with his girlfriend he went out and tried to defeat the dark lord. His girlfriend broke into the snape's office to get the sword to help Harry even though they broke up. When Hermonie's boyfriend left she helped Harry on his quest to find Horcruxes. Bella grew up with a loving mother and ended up a depressed teen. When Edward left she sat on a chair for months on end not doing anything. When Edward left Bella he went away doing nothing for months on end. Which one sounds better?
