+90 "First of all when I was young there were juvenile delinquents and there were beatniks; then there were hippies, then there was punk, then there was grunge, then there was gangsta. Do you guys seriously think scene kids are the group of people that are represent our generation um i don't think so in 40 yrs no one is going to talk about how "scene kids made an impact on our society"!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

That is exactly what I was thinking. Scene is a style, it isn't a movement like Beat Generation was. In a way, I kind of think that that Beatnik state of mind is coming back. But then again, with the ever-growing popularity of being original and wacky, it is difficult to know who the real intellectuals are and who is just conforming with society. What we need is a good old-fashioned revolt (over what I don't know). If our generation can't start a movement, then we should at least make one big impact.

Scene kids represent our generation currently. If you disagree, tell me, what kids do YOU see nowadays?

And the post doesn't say they made an impact on society, it just says what their generation was. Our generation, currently, is majority scene.

It's undoubtedly 'Gamers' I'm in a minority by being a non-COD playing guy.

um, a little embarassing, but is scene the same as emo? cuz that would make sense because the previously stated names seem to be looked down on in a way, at least before it gets mainstreasm? i might be totally wrong though.

scene is just more fashionable then emo, and they don't cut themselves

My mate and I were talking about this. You know how we think of the 60's as the "Hippie Generation" and all. Kids in later years will remember us as the "Emo/Scene Generation".
