There's a board near the foreign language classrooms in my school that lists many different reasons why learning another language is important. I can't remember them all right now, but some include it helps you in your travels, it makes you stand out from other job applicants, it makes you more intelligent, and it helps you communicate and relate to other people. Saying what OP said in this post is very ignorant. Not everyone speaks the same language as you, and language can be both a barrier and a uniter. Apprends une autre langue et parle avec tout le monde!
