a beat is like steroids to the poetry, actually, it's probably not because it isn't manly, but because we'd actually have to read the poem, instead of having it sung to us

I don't like poetry that much..but not because I don't think it's manly o_O I guess it would depend on the poem but I think it's kind of boring. Music is basically poetry, but it's more than that.

Guys really hate poetry, they just dont like how poetry hides the real content. Poetry doesn't go straight to the fact, it has difficult but interesting words some may not understand. Point is guys like things straight up, no guys are like Shakespeare. Guys just want to tell you how they feel straight up, if they love you theyll say it, but im pretty sure they wouldnt compromise it and say it in a poem.
