-72 The big bang theory makes no sense, it should not be taught as fact in schools, amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Look, just because you weren't paying attention in class that day doesn't mean you know better than the scientific community.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

do you know the chances the the big bang theory is correct? I don't know the exact number but i do know it would be like saying, "I am throwing this spaghetti against a wall, if lightning and water hit it at the same time after I have thrown exact 17.343845 hand fulls and another is in the air then it will turn into a full functioning jeep." yeah that sound real legit

by Anonymous 14 years ago

There are no 'chances' whether it is correct, its not a guess like flipping a coin. The scientific community puts forth ideas and they are being constantly evaluated and changing.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it makes no sense.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

no it really doesn't! that would be like oh idk a tiger and a eagle having a human offspring, it just doesn't happen

by Anonymous 14 years ago

um, where are you getting these facts? cuz they sound like bs. ok, so if not the big bang, how did the universe begin?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

oh idk how about creation!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

so the idea that an all powerful being just amde us all pop up out of thin air has more evidence than scientists even though there isn't a shread of scientific proof to back up the theory of creation? are you seirous?!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

out of nothing? psh He used the dust of the planet He just made stupid! and proof does not need to be scientific, I have proof that can ever be shown to the outside world but that doesn't make it invalid. I feel His presence all around us, I feel His power and His love. now I would love to talk about more, BUT I'm going to church now

by Anonymous 14 years ago

k have fun! im gonna go woship the devil!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

LMFAO

by Anonymous 14 years ago

The big bang is much more believable, than some guy sitting in the clouds, constantly stroking his beard.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

^^ We have a winner.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

what beard and who said anything about clouds

by Anonymous 14 years ago

The problem with farbal is you will never ration with him. He doesn't understand how science doesn't just claim something to be true like religion. The theory of a big bang is a well developed idea that has been evaluated by the scientific community, new ideas are constantly being proposed and can help build on previous ideas.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

how has it been well developed? show me the evidence right now

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Read Wikipedia's article; check out the references, external links, and further reading if you want to learn more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang Please don't make me rage by arguing anyone can edit wikipedia.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

actually editing wikipedia is harder than it seem trust me... it didn't let me chage the post to say, "than Zeus invented and ate cheese..." but i'll go to that link a little l8r i gotta go to skool now

by Anonymous 14 years ago

10 bucks says he's going drunk/stoned

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Have you ever studied the Big Bang theory? What you just said makes no sense. You need to go to google for five minutes before you make a bunch of shit up.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Oh. My. God. Do you know how ignorant you sound? I see where you are coming from, since you're obviously religious. But saying the Big Bang Theory could not have possibly happened is stupid. What's stupider is that you believe it's more likely that some guy up in the clouds decided there should be earth and then - BAM, there it is.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

what clouds? this has nothing to go with clouds

by Anonymous 14 years ago

INTELLIGENT DESIGN THEORY FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

legendary fail

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Wow. Really you should know what youre talking about before you go put it on the internet. God doesnt "sit in the clouds constantly stroking his beard". First of all if he was in the clouds you could see him, and second of all what makes you think he has a beard

by Anonymous 14 years ago

if a christian god actually exists, i would be extremely disappointed if he were beardless.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

He should also have abs of steel

by Anonymous 14 years ago

LOL

by Anonymous 14 years ago

What if God created the universe via the big bang? The biggest fallacy is that it just happened with no cause, not that it happened at all. And I'm saying that as a Christian. I'm only agreeing with you because I don't think it should be taught as fact, just presented along with creationism as an option for the students to decide on what to believe.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Creationism should never be taught in schools. School isn't the place for religion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It should not be taught in school as fact, because it isn't a fact, it's a theory and it has not (probably can not) be proven. It does sort of make sense, though. However, the big bang theory and creation do not have to be mutually exclusive. God could have caused the big bang to happen. Maybe that's how he got the ball rolling when he was making stuff. I mean, he didn't just think things into existence. He had raw materials and he physically put them together to create the earth and everything on it. We don't know what kind of construction techniques he used.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It IS taught as a theory...in my school, anyways.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Its a theory, therefore not perfect, so it could make sense you're just not seeing it from every angle

by Anonymous 14 years ago

THEORIES DO NOT BECOME LAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is where people are wrong, you can't disclaim something by saying 'It's Just a theory'. A law is an observation or pattern in our universe and a theory tries to explain them. Newton introduced the law of gravity, the simple concept of why an apple will fall to the ground. He published as well his theory of gravity which aimed to explain this phenomenon. Along came Einstein and completely upset his theory and work on gravity. But the law of gravity he introduced is still the same concept. As Einstein kind of 'built' on newton's theory so does our scientific community constantly do as well, we evaluate theories and even well established ideas can change, unlike religion.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Teachers don't teach it as fact. It's a theory that's taught with other theories because no one knows how the world came about since no one was around back then

by Anonymous 14 years ago

its a pretty funny show though =]

by Anonymous 14 years ago

aaaw i was gonna say that! I LOVE THE BIG BANG THEORY!!! it's soooo funny! :)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

lol i thought it would have been said a long time ago i was surprised when no one had haha

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It is not taught as fact, because we don't know if it is a fact or not. It's just a scientist's way of explaining things. It should be taught in schools because it is the most widely accepted theory that is not related to any religion.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I don't think it IS taught as a fact. It should be taught as a theory, because that's what it is.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

by Anonymous 14 years ago

(SO MUCH FUCKING RAGE): Um, sorry to upset you? But the Big Bang Theory IS a theory, otherwise it wouldn't be called that. As far as I'm concerned, there's not enough proof of it, if any (correct me if I'm wrong. this is not a formal debate. I've done no research.). I'm not really sure what you're yelling at me about. Sorry to seem ignorant or whatever, but I'm confused.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

They practically teach it as fact in our school. In science teachers refer to the beginning of the universe as the big bang and they don't promote other theories. Also, no one really knows how the universe started, I mean historians have trouble figuring out what happened 6 thousand years ago, let alone 9,999,999,999,999,999,999...ect years ago.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I totally hate it when people teach theories as fact! They did that in my school with the Continental drift theory.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

ARE YOU ON METH?! THEORIES DO NOT BECOME LAWS!!!! THEY ARENT WRONG BECAUSE THEY ARE A THEORY, THEY HAVE BEEN EVALUATED AND TESTED BY OUR SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY. THEORIES EXPLAIN LAWS!!!! EVERY MODERN TEXTBOOK WILL CLARIFY THIS!!! WHAT HAS PUBLIC EDUCATION BECOME!!!!!??????????

by Anonymous 14 years ago

(RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!): Calm down! That does not mean that theories are fact. If what you're saying is true, then some theories are proven true, but still not all of them. What about the string theory? Plus, I never said anything about theories becoming laws, did I? The Big Bang Theory has not been fully proven yet, and therefore is not fact, and therefore should not be taught as fact. Can we agree?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

(RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!): Oh my goodness. Get that guy a tranquilizer or something.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did anyone else think he was talking about the TV show at first? LOL.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I did.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait, correct me if im wrong, but isn't the big bang theory the idea that two atoms colided and made the universe? Where did the atoms come from? (contrary to belief, i am not currently stoned)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

No that is not it, sorta close, but i dont know enough to explain, the universe was smaller than an atom though until it expanded.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

best show ever

by Anonymous 14 years ago

*applaud* The finest trolling I have seen

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I imagined that as a golf clap.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guys, shut up. Eiether you beleive in the BBT or not, you dont have to argue about it. Jeeze.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

The BBT doesn't even pertain to the Origin of the Universe. It basically states that matter was dense and hot and it is now less dense and less hot. Scientists even concede that they cannot prove how we got the matter that was around before the "Big Bang"
