+80 I find it easier to believe in "Evolution", than to believe in some guy, sitting on the clouds, constantly stroking his beard. amirite?

Good thing that's not what God is.

Stroking his beard or not; people have a hard time believing in something that "looks" over the world, that created the universe, and that created us.

this is true, i hate the idea that im being constantly watched and judged all the time. id rather live my life than convince myself that this life is basically an audition for the next one

Then you aren't making your judgment based on the merit of either argument are you? You're making your judgment based on what makes you feel more comfortable. Unfortunately for you, this is fallacious at its core, because what you feel does not have to be right.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Exactly, As in, you may feel god exists, doesn't mean he does. -_-

by Anonymous 14 years ago

LOL so true.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I know I have a hard time believing it.

The odds of evolution occurring are so outstanding that it has almost been eliminated from consideration as a possible theory for organisms on the Earth.

By who, where did you get this from???

Evolution and God can exist together. Nuns have been teaching it in Catholic schools since the 60's. It's the fundamentalists who can't accept scientific fact.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I'm pretty sure this post is about fundamentalists. They're saying that if the two are mutually exclusive, then evolution is more likely.

While I'll always pick science over religion, and I'm not the biggest fan of religion, I don't see why most people have decided that they inherently have to negate each other. The whole argument just seems like a bigger version of fan girls arguing over which band is better. Science can be right, and there still be some form of higher power. Who's to say Science isn't just discovering the way that some God built existence. The concept of God puts it beyond everything, it can never be proven, if it could, then they wouldn't be very Godly. People argue that Evolution is crazy because Science claims it took billions of years. But if a God exists, then I highly doubt they operate on the same time measurement we use, assuming they exist within Time at all.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I believe in both, but I agree evolution is easier to grasp than God, mostly because it takes place in this dimension.

I'm disappointed in the amount of NW's this post has.

*FAPFAPFAPFAPFAP* Someone up there watching me, stroking his beard? Thank god i believe in evolution!

I'm sorry but this is seriously what annoys me about people who don't believe in God. I'm a Christian and I try to be open & accepting to all religions but I still get the label of "judgmental" just because I'm a Christian. Yet people who are atheist who claim to be so open minded are constantly bashing Christians & making up jokes about how dumb they are to believe in something such as God. Who are you to judge anyone else's religious beliefs not matter how far fetched you think they are? You're just as big of a butt as those Christians who say atheists are dumb. Sorry for this rant but it really just ticks me off. Have a splendid day. :)
