I sincerely agree with this post. Forgive me for getting abstract, but whatever you do, you do it because it's what you want. Every conscious action or decision is made to gain a reward or avoid a punishment. If I help a friend out with a problem, it is because I feel happy when they are, or because I'll feel guilty if I don't.

Helping an old lady cross the street is //not// selfish in any way at all. Cooking a dinner for you family is //not// selfish in any way at all. Doing ANYTHING for ANYONE else specifically counters the definition of selfishnes.
