+78 Twitlight may be a horrible book in your opinion, but at least it is getting children to read, amirite?

It's getting children to read, but they're reading trash. There are massive plot holes, shoddy technique, and underdeveloped characters. You had in right in your typo, it should be called "Twitlight."

They did say 'in your opinion'. I like the books, even if there is massive plot holes and underdeveloped characters. Sometimes too much detail is even worse because you get bored with constant descriptions. Twilight lets you come up with your own opinions and be a little more creative than being told everything.

i agree. anyway, kids (and teenagers) should be allowed to read what they want

if ur a parent i hate this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The books are actually pretty good; it's the movies that suck. (Well, actually, the 4th book is pretty bad too. But the rest of them are okay...)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

i thought the 4th book was the best

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Me too. Mainly becuase Jacob stopped trying to get with Bella. I like Jacob, but it was annoying me that he couldn't face the truth.

im glad not everyone hates twilight. they arent bad books.

Thanks to Twilight, my 11 year old cousin is now obsessed with finding a boy who is a stalker, possessive, and is doubtful she can protect herself aka Edward Cullen.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

...children? How about college students, 30 year old women...

by Anonymous 14 years ago

like i said, PEOPLE should be allowed to read what they want without being criticized by everyone.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Hehe, you wrote "Twitlight"

by Anonymous 14 years ago

hehe, it was a typo.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

didn't notice the typo, but it still fits.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It also teaches them that abusive relationships are ok.

Do you really think that after reading twilight these kids are going to move on into reading ACTUAL works of literature?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Exactly.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Fact: Twilight is a poorly written book. Opinions: "I liked Twilight", "I didn't like Twilight." If every kid were reading Mein Kampf, I wouldn't say 'Hey, at least they're reading!'

by Anonymous 14 years ago

The difference between Twilight and, say, Harry Potter, is that Harry Potter introduced (some) kids to reading and opened up this whole magical world of literature for them. With Twilight, most kids who read it, even if they are reading something, which is better than nothing, they're reading trash and they're usually not reading anything else. Occasionally a vampire romance Twilight-ripoff novel. But it also causes kids who used to love to read to ONLY read Twilight. And reread it. And rereread it.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Yes. It's also convincing them there will be a sparkly vampire watching them sleep.
