The cops might as well get in trouble for not supplying homeless people with homes... Just my two cents, I don't think prisoners should have cable, internet, or any big "luxuries" like that. There's a reason they're in prison.

Some of them get fresh bread and meals. I think a man on death row got expensive chemotherapy because he got cancer, but my mom told me that years ago so I could be wrong. It's insane...

Can anyone provide a link? I've found nothing that backs up this statement. I disagree, anyway, though. Part of the humane treatment of prisoners is providing some form of entertainment, such as literature, television, and exercise. It acts as a pacifier to ensure the prisoners do not become restless and aggressive. Prisoners are still human beings and should be treated as such.

Why should murderers and rapists NEED to watch TV? It's not saying other forms of entertainment were not provided, and most people would agree that they should have books and exercise, but TV is a bit of a luxury, It's in no way a human need. I don't have cable, and I'm perfectly entertained.

I still have yet to find any source that states that prisons are required to provide cable television. Anyway, television provides a break from the monotony of sitting in a small, locked cell. Without it and other forms of entertainment, prisoners would go insane. I see no problem with it.

not every one in jail is there for rape... most of them are there for things like robery, drugs, you know, shit that was bad but they still deserve to get treated like a human. they are already being punished by being in prison, prison gangs, and being someones bitch. robbing someones house doesnt mean you should only be able to sit in a cell and read and draw. and if someone is a high security inmate, whos done something reallllyyyyyy bad, and if they are really bad in prison, they dont get the same nice treatment as people who are there for smaller things.

Prison here should be like in the middle east where prisons only provide the cells and the families of the prisoners would have to come and supply blankets or food or whatever.
