+179 How does the majority of road kill end up on the shoulder of the road? Do they always automatically think "Hey, I need to crawl to the shoulder of the road as a common courtesy." Or does someone always move it there? And if so, wouldn't they have sense to move it into the grass so it can decompose properly? This is strange, amirite?

It's usually the road maintenance crew, they come along and sweep it to the curb.

Sometimes the animal is still alive after it is hit so it crawls to the side of the road and then it dies.
