Well, it's annoying when people assume that you like any music that has a guitar in it. But I personally feel that not all screemo is shit, just most of it.

Same :) Frank Iero's band, leATHERMOUTH, is screemo. It's not bad, I think, but there's something about it that makes me laugh. Every time I hear something by them, I can't hep but laugh. I don't know why.

Rock is such a broad term these days. It's hard to explain to people what type of music you like without them thinking you listen to pop rock or metal.

I find it easier to just mention some artists I like. Although some people lose it when I mention Marilyn Manson and P!nk in the same sentence. They're just 'Y U NO ONE STEREOTYPE?'

Haha.. yeah.. it's like some of these newer heavy rock bands are classified as death hardcore metal with a screamo influence. Or grungecore deathmetal. It's like give the labels a rest and just be a band.

GOD yes. Labels surrounding music are so irritating! Especially the labels given to the fans. I was friends with this girl a while ago, about 2 years ago, and we were getting along brilliantly until my phone went off, my ringtone was a Lostprophets song. She looked at me weird and said she couldn't be friends with me anymore because I liked rock I would be a bad influence on her and walked away right there. God yes, I'm getting B/A's in school, don't do drugs, don't have sex and wouldn't pressure her into anything. I'm certainly going to be a bad influence on her because I like rock...

I hate it when I tell someone I like rock and they ask me if I like [Band I've never heard of] I say no and then they go 'Guess you're not a real rock fan' or something like that. I'm just like 'Oh, sorry I haven't heard of that band, but now I definitely won't give them a chance if all their fans are assholes like you' :|

Of course, there are some people, like me, who like both "screamo" and rock. Some of my favorite bands: Pink Floyd, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Alesana, and Asking Alexandria.
