"Thou shalt not steal..." except for Easter. You can take that from the Pagans. amirite?

I think Christmas is more pagan-y. The egg part doesn't fit with Easter, but the time of year does.

The Christians set Easter to coincide with Pagans spring festival (called Eostre), to convert them.

But it is more accurate calendar wise than Christmas. It makes sense that it was set to be with the Pagan holiday, especially since it's based off the moon cycle instead of a set day, but it was around March-May.

I think "adapting" would be the better term.

Actually Christians "stole" it from the Jews. Easter is set around the Passover Feast.

Easter is set around the Passover Feast, but the name Easter came from a pagan god who was the god of fertility, hence the eggs. The pagans would have a huge feast to celebrate this god which became what we call Easter. Christians "adapted" this celebration, making it a day to worship Christ's resurrection, and turned it into more of what we know of today.
