Why do most people in songs and TV, etc. get up at 7 AM or 8? In real life, most kids/teenagers that go to a normal school have to get up at 5 or 6, amirite?

Wtf kind of school do you go to? I would wake up @8, 8:30 for high school.

Wow, you're lucky. My school STARTS at eight and it's two miles away. I either have to take the bus, which comes at 7:15, or walk.

I drive and I still have to leave at 7 each morning sometimes earlier... and many of my friends have to leave much earlier than that.

I wake up at 6am, school starts at 7:50am. The bus picks me up at 7am, and I get to school at like 7:10. So I have to wait for 40 minutes outside in the cold. :/

Wake up 6:30, get ready, walk the dog, then either walk to school and get there just before the bell, or get a ride and get there the same time since my family takes forever in the morning. Either that or they want to leave at 6:50 and I get to school before the janitor.

My school starts at 9:15 am. I take an optional extra class before school, though, so it starts at 8:20 for me. It's still pretty nice, though.

WTF schools do these people go to that start at 8-9, unless it's college classes. I wake up at 6-6:15am, and my bus comes at 7:15am, with school starting at 7:35am :/

Haha, no I'm in high school and it starts that late. I think part of the reason is that the elementary schools and high schools in my district use the same buses, so the elementary schools start earlier and high school can't start until buses are available. Elementary starts earlier so that parents or older siblings can get the younger kids to school or bus stops safely.

So some of the high schoolers get there in schoolbuses (the yellow ones)? Because here the elementary kids have the option of taking public buses or schoolbuses. There are no schoolbuses for the high schoolers, you /have/ to take the public bus.

Well, I don't know about the bus system where you live, but in my city, the stops are too far away or require crossing dangerous streets from some neighborhoods so it is difficult for students to walk to a public bu stop. Seeing as most high schoolers are still minors, it is the school district's responsibility to provide them with transportation if they live more than 2 miles away from school.

We used to start at 7:55 and get out at 2:37 but they finally realized how weird that was. So now we start at 7:50 and get out at 2:35, makes so much more sense now.

Everyone here goes to pussy schools. I get up at 5:30 every morning, my bus comes at 6:50 at latest, school starts at 7:24. Homeroom starts at 7:34. (technically 25 and 35 respectively, but the bells don't ring then.) Unless you're in college or go to something other than public school, class shouldn't start at like 8. That's crazy. That's when (my) elementary school starts..

Wake up at 5:30, get ready, wake up my brother at 6:30, my dad and I leave around 6:45, I get to school at around 7:25, grab breakfast from the cafeteria, in homeroom by 7:30-ish, and the bell rings at 7:32. After school is the hard part, though.

I take about an hour or so to get ready and leave. But that's because I also have to help my dad make breakfast for my brothers, get them up, make sure their semi-decent looking/smelling, get them up after they fall back alseep, then my twin and I have to run out the door and try and catch the bus.

I live like 5 minutes away by car and 15-20 minutes by bus. I usually get up around 7, but school starts at 7:35. There's also an option to start at 8:30, but I like getting a ride to school :D

Usually I wake up at 6:45, but sometimes I'll wake up earlier depending on wether I'm going to do my homework in the morning or straighten my hair. I leave at 7:30, arrive at 7:40-7:45ish. Homeroom starts at 7:50 and school lets out at 2:46.

I wake up at 8, 730 if i dont take a shower at night, leave at 820, my bus gets to my stop at 830, school starts at 905 and gets out at 405. I'm pretty content with it. Its a public school in texas, so no special circumstances.
