+210 If people want sea turtle populations to increase, they just needs to shoo away a few birds and crabs on a beach when the babies hatch. Those other animals can find food somewhere else for a few minutes, because they aren't endangered, amirite?

That's not the only problem. Raccoons can smell the nest because the mother pees on it. So the raccoon gets in there and eats the eggs. Which is why (if you've ever seen Last Song, you'd know) they put a cage around the nest so the babies are safe. They take away the cage when the turtles are ready to hatch
