Britney Spears' time in the spot light is up. Britney Spears was (and is) a mediocre popstar with mediocre songs about stupid shit and I have no idea how anyone could possibly find any inspiration in her songs. As far as Lady Gaga goes, at least she's different when compared to other pop artists.

You can't really compare Britney's music and Gaga's music. They are from different times, and most people ten years ago genuinely thought Britney was the greatest thing ever. She has gotten countless pop awards, and is still looked on as a pop icon. She had chart-topping songs just like Gaga does now. She has some of the most recognized songs around the world. If you were to compare what they are both doing today, obviously Gaga is better. Saying Britney Spears "sucks" or "has no talent" is a bit much, and I think they both have talent.
