+864 The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was not that they were in love and couldn't be together. The tragedy was that their parents were too busy fighting each other and being bad parents and didn't realize their kids were being complete morons. amirite?

I hate that story because of Romeo. He spends days crying over some girl and then he sees Juliet at a party and marries her like the day after. It's like whatever happened to that other girl? I thought he was in love with her.

That's exactly what Friar Lawrence said. His longest speech was pretty much "Romeo, you're an idiot. You think you're in love with this Juliet girl? Last week you were crying all about Rosaline."

I wonder if Juliet would have married him at all if she knew about the other chick. Even at 13, you should have the sense to know that if he cares so little about another girl he was just supposedly in love with and completely willing to marry another girl just hours after they break up, he'll probably have relationship issues.

Juliet threatened to pull a dagger on herself everytime she didnt have things her way. and Romeo just didnt have a brain.

and Juliet didn't have the brains to go to the next town over where Romeo was living when he was banished
