When I think popular, I think kids everyone knows and everyone likes and has a million friends. Not part of a clique we're popular cuz everyone knows us somehow but were assholes, like in mean girls. I've never actually encountered such a clique, all the popular people at my school are popular cuz they're likeable.

I certainly hope my kids will become nerds. But the smarter technologically-advanced 4.0 Pokemon and books kind of nerds, not the geeky acne-and-braces playing World of Warcraft all night nerds. I do want my kids to see the sun.
