+330 Gays: You're glad that Don't Ask, Don't Tell is gone so now you can finally join the army, train for months, survive harsh conditions, and risk the possibility of dying in war just to maybe catch a glance of the same sex naked in the shower, amirite?

Look below for that irrelevant comment war.

good one and very true :)

inb4 someone says "inb4... " Wait... damn it!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Holy shit, why does everyone take your posts literally?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I mean why else would one of them HOMOSEXUALS join the army?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Gays joining just to see naked men wasn't the problem. The problem was other men feeling uncomfortable showering, bunking, etc, with gay men. It would be like 50 women showering with 2 (unattractive) men. The 50 women are obviously going to feel uncomfortable. Same goes with 2 gay men showering with 50 straight men.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or, y'know, because your sexuality shouldn't matter in the army... so why should you toot your horn?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's the point - soldiers face some of the toughest conditions, and emotional and physical challenges on earth - if they can't suck up showering with someone who has a different sexual orientation to their own, then how the hell are they gonna handle training for war?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Like, I think that any homosexual soldier who shows inappropriate behaviour - flirting with the other soldiers or purposely making them feel uncomfortable, should be punished or removed, but if the simple fact that a solider in your bunk is gay is enough to make another solider feel uncomfortable, then that solider should be the one to get a reality check.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"Gays will make normal soldiers feel uncomfortable." You mean, getting shot at and being in the presence of IEDs makes you feel comfortable?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really? A soldier needs a reality check because he feels uncomfortable showering and living with somebody who might be sexually attracted to them? Like I said, put this in perspective. Nobody would allow 2 men to bunk and shower with 50 women. It would be ridiculous. If the women felt uncomfortable, would that mean they need a reality check?

If I'd been through boot camp and marine combat training, survived dozens of bullet wounds, parachuted out of several planes during bombing raids, and spent years of my life getting by ambushed by terrorists in the sweltering dessert heat, I don't think a few awkward glances in the shower would really make me all that uncomfortable.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So you wouldn't mind showering with men you're not attracted to?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If I were in the army, I think I'd have bigger problems to worry about. I wouldn't mind showering awkwardly with a bunch of ugly men so much if I knew those men might save me in battle and help keep the nation safe. If you can't handle showering, you're not tough enough to be in the military anyway.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow. That's so incredibly offensive. My friend is going into the Marines, and because his opinions differ from you, he isn't tough enough to be in the military?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Is your friend afraid of showering? Gay people are everywhere: in the gym locker room, in the bathroom using the urinal next to you, on your wrestling team, ect. You will experience awkward moments with gay people just as you experience awkward moments with the opposite sex. Gay people are everywhere and if you can't handle the occasional awkward moment with a gay person, you've got personal issues. Just a note when I say awkward moment, I'm talking about an awkward glance or a uncomfortable feeling or something innocent that happens all the time not any form of serious sexual harassment (verbal or physical). That is something completely different that is never okay. Also, with a budget of 685.1 billion dollars, you'd think the US military could afford to buy a few shower curtains.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just gotta say, as a gay guy, I kinda go out of my way not to do that. Like, I usually use the stalls in my work's changing room, or whatever, and it's an unwritten rule that you definitely don't flirt or anything with your straight mates or co-workers. And the reverse happens - thinking that a guy is uncomfortable around me because he thinks I'm attracted to him makes me feel uncomfortable. But in the end, ya gotta suck it up.

There's a lot of gays on this site, based on how many voted

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I doubt that everyone who voted is actually gay, but yes, this website does have a large gay population.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Now hopefully gay marriage will become legalized so they turn the children of straight couples gay and eventually lead to men marrying donkeys. Or something like that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

this was on saturday night live

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Can't I just go to the gym to shower instead...? Joining the army seems like too much of a hassle just to see naked ladies. Porn would be a nice option too.
