Well, it kind of depends on behavior, but for the most part, I would consider that too old. Especially since a lot of people I know started babysitting at that age or even younger.

I agree it depends on behavior and also the condition of the child. I presume OP excludes children with disabilities. We were left alone starting around 10 years old, but times have changed. Some kids are just too needy and would either burn the house down or steal things.

I started babysitting when i was 11 and i still babysit the same family who's oldest kids are 12 now.. i don't get it

I agree with those above. I think the only time you need to by "babysat" at 15 is is maybe you're spending a weekend home alone and your parents think you're too immature so you need more of a "house sitter".

My parents started leaving me home alone when I was probably 6 or 7. Not for a long time, only for long enough to take my brother to school or something. But then for some reason I got really scared (I was a weird kid. I started "seeing things" for a couple of years) and I couldn't be by myself again until I was 11. I'm 15 now and I babysit.
