+341 You wonder how long it takes for a raindrop to fall from a cloud until it reaches the ground, amirite?

21 seconds You believed me for a second there, didn't you.

about 7 seconds the guy above is a dick

well google didn't help. All i got was "it depends"

Hi Oh I thought we were just wasting space

The raindrop will travel about 9.8 meters per second squared. So if you take the distance from the base of the cloud to the ground and divide it by 9.8 you'll get the time it takes to reach the ground.

yeah, except that acceleration is only 9.8 m/s squared if it's traveling in a vacuum, which it's not. You've got to factor other things in, such as air resistance.

I've always wondered this. I read that it takes a snowflake almost 2 hours to reach the ground... but they kind of float and drift slowly.

Yes and also evaporation as the drop falls. But these things are quite minuscule and so to get a general idea of how long it takes for the drop to reach the ground, they can be ignored.
