It's a little confusing when the gender drop box has "male", "female", and "other". amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I wouldn't really say it's confusing...I still know which one I'm gonna pick haha.
"Ok, there's male or female. I'll go with male, that's easy enough. Wait, hold on. 'Other' is an option? Alright, maybe we should think about this for a minute."

What would "Other" be used for though? People who've had a sex change? But the way I see it, is you're either male or female.

I just thought about it, and maybe it's for the people who don't want that information on the website, account, etc.

Confusing, yes, but I think it makes it a lot less stressful for people that are questioning their gender and aren't sure which one they're comfortable with.

I think that's probably the best explination there is for that choice.

I don't see the big deal - I always just saw it as being for people who didn't want that info on their profile, the same as some people didn't want to put their country on their profile.
