+290 A lot of people think that America is the same type of place in every state. California is nothing like Washington or Texas, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What about the east coast or mountain time?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The east coast is typically very different mindset-wise than the South.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But Driving down a highway from Virginia to Georgia...youd never notice the difference until you talked to someone. Usually theyre all friendly though, very friendly :D

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't believe I understand. Georgia and Virginia are both in the South and on the East Coast.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Doesnt mean we are at all the same. Because remember northern VA is very influenced by D.C and central is very urban and then southern is agricultural alonh with North carolina which is a lot of strip malls, south carolina is basically just crops and Georgia is very urban/ much different type of people. Especially along the gulf

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think I understand now. My mind was thinking that you were comparing ,for a lack of better word, regions. Well I would imagine North Carolina would be more industrialized than South Carolina. I can't really say anything about the other states mentioned because I haven't been there but Georgia is kind of urban. Also could the other anon explain what they mean by the east coast. Do you mean the entire thing or New England is different than The South?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I meant the New England area.

I went on a road trip once from NYC to Miami (which is almost the southernmost city in the US), and it's amazing. The highways look a little different every couple of states, and the accents and fast food joints change as you go along. And that's just the east coast.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Miami is 2.5 hours away from the southernmost city in the US. That does not make it almost the southernmost city.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

True, but "almost" is subjective. I think the general point can still be made.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

2.5 hours is not very subjective. You pass through four other cities just after getting onto the keys before reaching Key West, which is the southernmost city.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Also, it is 162 miles away from being the southernmost city in the US.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Okay, I can definitely see that. When I'm on a road trip, though, where I've been in a car for 24 hrs, 2.5 hours is something tangible. If I'm 2.5 hours from my destination, I can say I'm almost there in that situation.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Being almost there in terms of time compared to a larger time frame is different than it geographically being the southernmost city in the US.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Okay. I was aware of the actual southernmost city when I made that comment. I have family in Key West and have driven there from Miami. I guess my perception of "almost" is skewed.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

There are just better ways to describe the long distance between NYC and Miami without making inaccurate geographical descriptions.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wow shut up..what jojo said was fine.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Very articulate argument there, sir.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

There's nothing to argue about. You annoyed me so I said something. Also, I'm a girl.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I annoyed you with my discussion with another user on here? I fail to see how it concerns you, but thank you for your interest.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, no place is as cool as Texas. cool

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think you mean hot troll

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And even just in some states there's so much diversity. Northern California, the SF Bay Area, Santa Cruz, and Los Angeles are all really different in climate and attitude.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah! I love living in California because we can drive to all those places. My aunt who lives in Washington always complains when she comes here and says "It's too hot" and "Washington is so much more lush and green." I just don't understand how anyone can hate on California because it's so diverse and amazing

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I hate California because the weather is almost the same all year round.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's funny that your aunt says that, macandcheesemuncher, because half of Washington is very desert like and very comparable to parts of California.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@ThatDylanGuy yeah my aunt just tries to say everything to make Washington sound better, whether it's true or not, which I find super annoying. She says it's so lush and green because she likes bragging about how much it rains there, but I could care less because I wouldn't want to live anywhere where it rains all the time.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Washington is pretty awesome. It really depends on personal preference as to if it's "better" or not, but I do like it here.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree, Washington is awesome and very beautiful. We used to go every year but ever since my aunt got a divorce we don't anymore. There are so many fun things to do there and the scenery is breathtaking.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

North Carolina is not just a bunch of strip malls...we have city, country, beach, & mountains ;) all within a three hour radius of my house. beat that.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Challenge accepted. I have city, country, and mountains, and //beach// all within a //2// hour radius of my house.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I love Georgia because of how diverse the landscape is. There are mountains, valleys, beaches, big cities, flat plains, and swamps. It's really breathtaking even to someone who's lived there all their life like I have.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Even just going through different cities of the same state can be a huge difference
