+224 Performers: while they can be stressful, quick changes make the show more exciting for you, amirite?

Hehe. They are pretty fun. Especially because you get a chance to be a diva and have your personally little crew of cast members helping you undress and change into your next costume. I recentally had my quickest one for my choir's show, "Disney Dazzle", where I had about 7 seconds to change from my solo outfit to my Nightmare Before Christmas outfit, which was insane. Because for my solo, I sang "I See The Light" from Tangled, and I braided my hair and adorned it with flowers, like in the movie. I actually had one person assigned to pick the plethora of flowers out of my hair. And the Nightmare costume had a good number of pieces: ripped shirt whose sleeves were impossible to find, socks, tights, gloves. And I attempted to quickly mess up my hair, all without ripping off my lav (the first night, it fell off my costume, and I had to scramble to pick it up on stage before someone stepped on it). The adrenaline rush was fantastic, once I overcame the nerves of the first night.

It can get awkward. Especially when you run offstage just to have two male cast members strip you down to your underwear and try to put a huge fluffy dress on you.

What's amazing is a running costume change. One of our girls was running down a hall, stripping and putting her next costume on at the same time. Never stopped moving and at the end of the hall, she was in her new costume. That girl was an old pro!

I love quick changes! However, my last show, I went offstage and someone had moved my costume, and I only had 7 seconds to change! I had to run even farther backstage and yell at a girl to put my costume on me (I felt pretty bad afterwards but hey, I was stressed). She just looked at me for a second, and my cue to be onstage is happening. I look around for my shoes but I can't find them. So she's still kind of standing there, I whisper rather ferociously and put on my skirt. She's standing there holding my shirt, AND SHE TURNS IT INSIDE OUT. So I just yank it out of her hands and put it on as it is. I booked it onstage. So I ended up with no shoes, my top inside out, the straps of my skirt still hanging at the sides instead of over my shoulders, and my previous costume still hanging out the back because there wasn't time to take it off. Haha well thank goodness I was only onstage for about thirty seconds (I went right back off for another quick change, and I had another one after ...

I was in a one-act and i had literally 6 quick changes, back to back, scene to scene, and I was always a main in every scene. it was hell.
