+293 Being sad is a total misuse of time, it doesn't change anything. All it does is mess up your mind and steal your happiness, amirite?

But you can't really control it. Say your mom dies. You aren't gonna be all chipper because it's easier than being sad.

Damn, beat me to it.

A few people I know's moms have died. They didn't sit around and be sad about it. They took at as an opportunity to make themselves stronger. They didn't sit around.

It may make you stronger, but you aren't going to purposely make yourself happy, it's just unnatural.

I've never thought about it that way... thanks I'll keep that in mind!

not to mention it messes up your makeup too!

When I'm sad, I stop being sad and start being awesome. True story.

Its hard to be awesome sometimes, but i try to stick to that.

Barnaby Stinson is my idol.

Well sometimes the more sad you are, the more you think. Some musicians wrote their greatest songs during their darkest times.

Like a dementor?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're right. Obviously, you should bottle up all your emotions and only ever be happy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or maybe sometimes you just need to be sad because something bad happened. There's nothing wrong with expressing that emotion, and sometimes it can't even be helped.

It does change things. If you bottle up your feelings that doesn't make you actually happy, it'll turn you angry and jaded. Letting yourself feel your emotions is a good thing, it's natural. Being sad happens for a reason and it's far better to just be sad for a while than an explosion of bottled up issues from several years.

Being happy all the time isn't natural, and if you never let yourself be sad, then you can never truly experience actual happiness and be grateful for it, because you have nothing to compare it to.
