+338 It's absolutely ridiculous that some people buy watches that cost over a quarter of a million dollars. It's like they think "Hm, with this money, I could feed thousands of kids in Africa, or I could buy an expensively bedazzled bracelet that tells time," amirite?

It's their money, they earned it. It's not their duty to feed the starving kids. If with THEIR money, they want to buy an expensive watch, why the hell do you care ?

It's a little something called morale. Some people actually care about kids who can't earn their own money or their own food and are dying on the streets. Apparently, some don't. They have nice watches.

Actually, most terribly rich people who would buy that watch already have a starving kid foundation or something alone that line. Most people with tons of money use give tons of it away to charaties and stuff, but they also indulge seeing as they earned it.

If you're an English major, its a little something called morals. You know how many kids you could feed instead of having a computer and internet?

Okay sorry everyone I didn't realize the controversy this could have. And I saw the ring on someone whose daughter was on My Super Sweet 16. They spent over $200,000 on their birthday parties. Is that spending justified?

1.)those were teenagers. 2.)the show is specifically made to show off or show how horrible the people on the show are 3.) They still have the right to do what they want with it 4.)They never show you the people giving money away, for all you know they spend money like that AND support charity 5.)You probably could sell your computer or have not bought that dress you're wearing in your picture to help starving children. Heck, you could join the peace corps instead of spending your time talking to people on amirite.

Okay, I got your point. And I'm sorry that I didn't show the other side of the argument.

Actually I was randomly watching My Super Sweet Sixteen the other day and part of the girl's party was a fundraiser for a children's hospital. So they aren't all bad. My thoughts are that no amount of money from one person can resolve a world issue, they earned it and they are allowed to spend it how they want. An its all relative. I bet you have plenty of clothes and a computer and a cell phone. Why didn't you donate that money to starving kids?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay I got it. I'm sorry that I failed to mention that yes, people do good with their money and it's their choice what to do with it. There are good people in this world, but on the other hand, there are people that just aren't good

This isn't a good person/bad person thing. Your post is ignorant and one sided because you have no clue what other things they are spending their money on. What if someone judged you by one purchase you made. Eww she bought ice cream, she MUST be obese.

I'm sorry. I really am. I didn't look at the other side. And you do have several good points.
