Shirts are made of cotton, an thanks my ancestors, we have plenty of that. Bikinis are usually made from a meterial that rejects water more. It's almso more expensive than cotton. I have no idea what it is though.

Well, as the old 3 word saying goes, "Less is more." It's not actually less. Swimming suits are designed to keep you clean and aerodynamic. If you were to wear a T-shirt and a pair of jeans and jump in a pool, it would be very hard to swim. I encourage teens to wear swimming suits, because as long as they wear them, the more pictures I can take.

what confuses me is the fact that the shorter the shorts, the more expensive they are, even if it's all the same material. I mean, why not just cut them yourself?

It's not so much the material, but the work going into it. It takes more effort to make a bra than it does a simple t-shirt. Bikinis and other swimsuits are seasonal, so they charge more to get the same profit as something that they sell year round.
