+199 Mosquitos are just plain annoying. What have they ever done to help the environment? Spiders and bees are annoying as well, but at least they help. Mosquitos just suck blood and carry diseases. They are pointless creatures, Amirite?

They're part of the food chain for spiders, and without spiders, birds would die off.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

True, but their only PART of the spider's food chain. . .

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay, so if you took away PART of the diet of humans, wheat, per se, then humans would lose part of their necessary nutrition.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not really. We can get the same nutrition from multiple sources.

They're actually a massive part of a looot of different animals' diets. Entire ecosystems would collapse if they disappeared. Plus, they help us out by giving us malaria. Population control is extremely important. I'd say humans are among the most pointless creatures. Sure, we're important to us and farm animals, but the rest of the world wouldn't care if we disappeared. We don't make up the diet of any animal, nor do we hunt any animal excessively.

I dont see cows ruining ocean systems, nor do I see monkeys depleting the ozone layer. Birds cant cut down trees, and most animals dont make landfills. I feel as though the rest of the world would actually celebrate if we disappeared

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wow how idealistic is that... being overly modest in saying we're the most useless creatures on the planet.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

-considering the earth's perspective. Not trying to go all whale savin' bike ridin' tree huggin' herb growin' EPA regulated protestin' vegan on you, chuck, but im just stating facts

by Anonymous 11 years ago

To alien, mosquitoes are important We only life because we are 'The mosquito's food of choice, primitive humanoid lifeforms,' and 'have colonies all over that planet.'

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Apparently they're good pollinators, but they are still a pain in the arse. A bit like bees, they're good for plants and give us honey, but they'd be better if they didn't sting.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well if the point of one animal is just so another can survive, then really, what's the point of anything.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

As opposed to humans, which are the greatest contributors to the ecosystem.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wasn't there something about aliens and mosquitos in Lilo & Stitch

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This may be true, but if you think about it, what have humans ever done to help the environment either?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

At the end of the day, everyone's going to die, so you could just argue that every creature's pointless, I think that's what it boils down to.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Same with gnats.

Male mosquitoes don't suck blood, they eat polen and stuff. Also, they're a HUGE part of the food chain. Not only because they multiply really freaking fast, but because the blood inside them makes them... Yummier, I suppose. Look it up on Cracked :)
