Me too. She does nothing for herself. There would be absolutely no story if she just minded her father. And then she gives her life away for some GUY which ticks me off to no end.

She gives up her voice to meet a guy she barely knows, she does NOT SPEAK AT ALL to this guy when they fall in love with each other. So he pretty much liked her only for her looks and the fact that she saved him.

I actually really like Ariel's personality, but I agree that she's not a very strong female. My least favourite is Jasmine, although she IS a strong female... she just seemed kind of bitchy to me. My favourite princess is Belle :3

Well at least Ariel follows her dreams and has adventures...plus she doesn't let the men in her life tell her what to do and it's ALWAYS her saving Eric, not the other way round. The whole love at first sight thing is a bit weird though.

Ariel's my favorite. Always has been, always will be. Sure she's not a strong female character, but i love how adventurous she is. Jasmine would have to be my second favorite and Pocahontas my third. But I absolutely DESPISE Snow White.

I actually hate Snow White too. She's just so bland and her voice is so incredibly annoying. Ariel bugs me though. She is such a weak female character, she never listens to her father, and she just bugs me. Sure, she's adventurous but so are pretty much all of the other princesses, excluding Snow White and Aurora. I probably was a little harsh saying that she's the worst though. Also, I'm sorry I'm ranting at you. Your comment is just the one that I saw first.

Jasmine, Mulan (if she can be considered a princess), and Belle are my favorites, because they all got off their butt and did something. Jasmine stood up for herself to get what she wanted, Belle saved her father from the beast by offering herself to the beast in her father's place (plus I like the fact she loved reading), and Mulan had the guts to enlist in the army to also protect not only her father, but her whole country as well

Belle is amazing because she doesn't care what anyone thinks of her, she just goes and does what makes her happy. Then she sacrifices her life for her father and loves and cares for someone even though he is a monster. She is the best disney princess. Ariel is OK, but her story is messed up.
