Things have to be powered. Energy costs money. Even if it was electric, that costs money. We haven't sold perpetual motion yet

solar? I read an article the other day about Nissan Leaf electric vehicle batteries having their electricity supplied by solar panels on the roof of Nissan headquarters. It was only a small scale experiment, but if that is going on now, I'd imagine that within our lifetimes something like that is possible on a large scale

Hm, touche'. But powering a car is a HUGE step for solar energy so I guess that's the point of an opinion post on what the future will hold lol
