College is a lot of money to spend if you're not motivated to go.

If you're going to inherit the family business it makes sense to decide not to go to college, or if you want to be an actor and someone's already offered you a career-making part, or if you want to be a writer and someone's already offered to publish you. If you think you've got your career set up already college would just be a waste of time and money.
