Because, if the movie had a competent team of editors, composers or what have you, the movie will have an accompanying action that will further enhance the mood the music was originally trying to set. Therefore, it often feels grander than the music itself. I mean, if you listen to an epic orchestral piece, you could imagine a large scale battle going on, but if you actually SEE that battle in front of you, it'll just make the music feel that much more epic.
