I was on an a student exchange in Paris, and one of our Americans got kicked out of class for yawning. It was kind of ridiculous.

In 8th grade we were having an anti-bullying assembly for our grade level. While one of the speakers was talking, someone yawned. It was not an obvious yawn, she wasn't mocking anybody, just just yawned. And all of the sudden our principal went batshit crazy on her screaming that yawning was the "absolute most rude thing that someone could do while someone else was speaking." She literally went on about it for about 8 minutes, and then kicked the girl out who even said sorry for being a disruption. The whole situation was weird because no one would have noticed that the girl yawned had our principal not screamed at her about it, which actually disrupted the whole assembly more than anything else.

Once I yawned in English while my teacher was lecturing, and it made five other people yawn (you know, since yawning's contagious) so she kicked me and all the others out of the class. And yelled at us for twenty minutes, no joke. This is one reason why I hated my English teacher, who, for the record, hated me to. And I was proud of it.

Most of the time when I yawn in class it's because I didn't get enough sleep the night before, not because I'm bored
