+231 In action movies, whenever the hero wakes up in a hospital, he/she always rips off his/her wires and tubes, gets up, and looks around. You've always wondered what those actually do, and how funny it would be if they actually turned out to be the only thing keeping them alive, resulting in the end of the movie, amirite?

I think they're doing the "Super" part of superhero wrong if they end up in the hospital...

Think resident evil. Or walking dead. Not superhero like batman but hero of the show/movie.

If you do rip out your tubes, you usually end up bleeding, a lot.

Some are to monitor heart rate and whatnot, some, like the IV, would cause a bit more of a mess when ripped out. But then again, when have movie hospitals ever been realistic?
