+217 The media should do more coverage on the drought in Somalia and raise awareness, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Same with the drought in Texas!!! Jk the one in Somalia's way worse

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The drought in Texas is much more important since we're Texans, and Somalians are black.

....Idk where you live but here they talk about Somalia's drought everyday. I couldn't be more aware. What I haven't heard about much on the news is the London rioting. But maybe that's because no one will stop talking about Somalia.

I live in the US where the media talks about the London riots and political stuff, but the media is different in different parts of the world so I see where you're getting at.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha I live in the US too. That's so odd.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow. That is odd......

There was a drought in Somalia?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, actually, it's still happening right now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Bro, Somalia is in Africa.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know my state capitals bro...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What about Texas? I forgot what rain looks like. I think it's orange. It's probably nowhere near as bad here, though.

Why is it that when they're pirating and stealing and murdering and dragging American soldiers through the streets we all turn a blind eye but as soon as they need help we all turn bleeding heart.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because there are some innocent people living there, whose kids are dying day bye day...

There's these pretty cool things called having a soul and not being a total jackass. You should try it some time!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll have a look into that, thanks for the advice.

How is raising awareness going to make it rain?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Awareness = people donating money + creating a relief effort. Money + Relief effort = Volunteers + Somalia being able to import water for their people and perhaps crops.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

To then have exactly the sam issue next year, no matter how much money gets pumped into these places nothing ever changes. Take comic and sport relief in the UK for example, yearly over 40 million pounds is sent from both to improve these places, but every year the videos they show are of the countries deteriorating. How can you help people who don't want to be helped? I think most countries have their own problems to be dealing with as well as bailing out every other country who needs something.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You just asked how it was going to make it rain, not how it was going to solve all the problems of the world. I know very well that things wont change until the consensus of the people is to change.

Who cares about Somalia?!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Anyone with an ounce of compassion?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or anyone who is busy looking over their shoulder to make sure that everyone knows they are "compassionate."
