+211 Its a piss off when people make dumb excuses not to exercise "I can't run because I have asthma" Well Terry Fox had one fucking leg and was developing lung cancer, no excuse, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Fuck you asthma is a serious problem, two of my friends have it. Uncaring bastard.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have it. Pretty bad, too. I exercise. Cardio can help strengthen your lungs and show less asthma symptoms. Calm down. It's not THAT serious, there's no need for you to call names.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This one guy can run, so you should, too, even though you might die. Yeah, that's logical.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're not gonna fucking die -.- You should do some form of exercise if you have asthma, even if it's not running. You can bike, you can swim, you should do something. My doctor said being I need to strengthen my lungs and it will actually help the asthma. You just need to carry your inhaler, which I do all the time anyway. I jog and I'm fine. If it's cold and dry outside, it will trigger my asthma worse so I do yoga. Point is, asthma is no excuse not to exercise. They just used running as an example, there's a million and one other ways you can exercise.

I got it:)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

For those of you who don't know who Terry Fox is, you should.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Whoever votes you down is a cunt. FACT.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I wish his story was more popular in America, I didn't hear about it until I watched a documentary about him maybe a year ago. Amazing story

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have asthma, I smoke, AND I can run.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Having asthma is literally no excuse for not being able to run. I have it, it's not as bad as everyone thinks. It's pretty common, and there is an inhaler you can use.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i used to be a runner like you, but then i got an arrow in the knee

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I only have one good fucking leg as well.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Having asthma is a valid excuse not to run. It is not a valid excuse to not exercise. Personal anecdote: I have asthma. I do not run. I rock climb, play volleyball, badminton, and occasionally soccer.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did you know soccer players, on average, run over 4 miles a game?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I did not know that. But anyway, I don't play competitively, and I always play defense so I can rest while the ball is on the other side of the field.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't have asthma, but I've gotten so many concussions that it feels like I never exercise.... even though I do exercise in between head injuries (and I play a few sports) d:

Stephen Hawking can't move most of his body and is a world-renowned scientist. Why aren't you a world-renown scientist? It's such a piss-off when people make excuses not to be scientists...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is not a good example, to be a scientist you need university degrees and a genuine passion for science. To excersise you only need your body.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If these people had a passion for exercise, do you really think they'd be making excuses? And yeah, you need university degrees, but those arne't something you're born with. Go get them. It really doesn't affect anyone but the person whether they do exercise, so I thinkt he OP complaining that they don't want to do something he thinks is important is unreasonable. "You are PHYSICALLY capable of doing X if you put your mind to it, so go do it because I think it's important" is basically what the OP is saying. I think science is important, nothing is physically stopping you from learning it and doing it, so how is this any different?

Your comment has no relevance. Dismissed

I don't see how this is relevant to my comment

I have reactive airway disease, which is similar to asthma but more of a general term. And sure, I CAN run like most people, but every time I do it feels like icicles are being stabbed into my lungs and throat. So don't say asthma is a dumb excuse, because you've apparently never experienced it. -.-

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I can't run because I'm a lazy bastard.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Dear all idiotic commenters who think they're smart, I have asthma, I have experienced it I know exactly what its like and you can run. End of story you people r pissin me the fuck off

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The worst is the people who go 'I can't run, I have a headache' BITCH YOU DON'T RUN WITH YOUR HEAD.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A kid in my gym class in 6th grade got out of running the mile because he sprained his pinky. He didn't have one leg, or lung cancer, he was just a fatass.
