+180 You've taken the same foreign language throughout your schooling career, and you still can't speak it fluently. amirite?

Are you saying this as though it should be a surprise, because it really is not, you can't become fluent in a language in that short a time if you spend an overwhelming majority of your time not speaking, reading, writing, listening to or thinking in that language.

OUI!!!! Mais c'est pas notre faute. Tout des mes camarades de classe (aussi ceux qui parlent francais) dissent que mon prof ne nous enseigne pas bien. Elle n'enseigne pas nous les choses important! It took me more than 3 minutes to write those 2 simple sentences.

See like what the hell did you say.

YES!!! But this isn't our fault. All of my classmates (also those who speak French) say that my teacher doesn't teach us well. She doesn't teach us the important things.

I've taken it in middle school, highschool, and am now in my second class in college. I actually understood that without looking at the other comments, so i'm proud of myself! y I'm just not as confident when I have to speak it in front of the class.

5 Years of French + actually going to France and I still suck at it.

lol it's okay I had to use a dictionary to find the verb "to teach" in that comment above. Oh and that's after 4 years of French.

Ive had pretty ineffectual spanish teachers for the past two years (one was our bitch and would do whatever we wanted and didnt care when we cheated, and the other was a senile old woman who didnt teach us anything) so I walk into school first day this year and the teacher expects us to be decently proficient, meanwhile no one knows anything because of the crap teachers.

11 years of Spanish instruction in school and I still can't speak it fluently. That's when you really know something is wrong with the system.
