That's just because there are new ways (i.e. new technologies) for people seem ignorant and spoiled. I sometimes feel this way when I see 10 years olds with iPhones when I didn't get a phone until 8th grade, but my older brother didn't get one until 12th grade, and he thought I was spoiled.

no. there are as many stupid, trashy 40-year-olds as there are stupid, trashy 20-year-olds as there are 12-year-olds who are on their way to being stupid and trashy. just because they put them on tv now doesn't mean they didn't exist before.
