+255 It's awkward when you take forever to calculate how many steps to take for monopoly because your math freaking sucks. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

that's why if one dice says 3 and the other says 4 I'll just think "1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And this is why our education system is failing...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll have you know I'm actually pretty good at math, I always have an A, but when it's summer and I'm being rushed I don't feel like doing any sort of math.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you can't do 3+4 you're not good at math and I don't care when it is. You might get good grades in math, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're good at the subject.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's 7. As I just said I CAN do it, but when I see the number 3 and the number 4 I don't automatically think 7 I think 3 and 4. Sure if you gave me a second to think I'd be able to do it, but my brother likes to play monopoly super fast.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly, it takes you a second to think about. You don't automatically think about it, if people were completely solid on their math fundamentals, it would be automatic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I literally mean a second. I need time to process which numbers I'm adding, or if I'm even adding. Why don't you automatically think 12, or 1.3? and what you said before doesn't make sense. You do need to be at least kind of good at a subject to be good in the subject.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't think 12 or 1.2 or 243 or whatever because when you roll dice in Monopoly, you ADD the numbers. And what I meant before was that getting an A in math =/= being good at math

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't know why you'd ever think 1.2 when you see 3 or 4 because there is nothing you could do with those numbers to equal 1.2 but okay. It's just you seemed to change the topic to the whole education system and off of monopoly. and still I need time to process which numbers are on the dice I can't just suddenly think "Oh look 7!" And I'm pretty sure if your not good in math you wouldn't easily get an A.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I meant 1.3 but accidently hit the 2, my bad. It totally applies to the education system because your comment shows a lot of kids aren't automatic when it comes to basic math and math is really about building blocks. And I've seen a lot of kids get a good grade in math, even "difficult" math classes because they do all the homework and when it comes to tests or whatever they ask the pushover teacher questions. But then when it comes to an AP test or ACT or SAT, they get bad scores and people continually wonder "Why do our kids not test well?"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When I was typing it I knew it equaled 7, but I'm bad under pressure, and as I said my brother likes to go super fast and not give me time to even look at the dice before he takes them and rolls. Well I don't ever do homework and never ask questions I sit in the back talking, so I don't know about other kids, but I actually am good at math.

fuck you are annoying...youre just arguing for the sake of arguing...like it actually matters if you can do 3+4 in one second or automatically...youre just an ignorant prick who thinks he's all smart for saying the education system is bad

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm an ignorant prick who thinks he's all smart? I'm sorry, but you don't know me at all so I'd be nice if you'd refrain for decided who I may or may not be.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1. Based on his conversation, you are being an ignorant prick. 2. You don't know Tweedledee, so how do you know that she isn't good at math? 3. Here you go arguing again.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1. I get how you could think I'm a prick, but how do you think I'm ignorant. 2. Tweedledee said it's not automatic to do 3+4 in her head, if someone says that, I can pretty safely assume they're not good at math. 3. If someone attacks my personal character, I'll defend myself. You may call it arguing but I call it having some self-respect

by Anonymous 12 years ago

do you know the definition of ignorant? anyway, yeah there is a difference between seeing 3+4 on a paper and having to do 3 dots + 4 dots on two dice

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Generally, people are familiar enough with the organization of the dots on each face of the die to know which face is which number immediately. So there's really very little difference.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

nope...end of conversation

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you can't add two number between 1 and 6 quickly, you need help.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

......Or you're just not good at math.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thank God I'm not the only one. Whew.
