+543 Just because you support Gay Rights doesn't mean you're gay. If you hated the Holocaust does that make you Jewish? amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I could argue the fact that there were other groups of people, besides Jewish, that were targeted in the Holocaust. Therefore, your argument has a strong flaw in it. (Though I get your point.)

Using that logic, neither does it make sense for gay rights, because lesbians, bisexuals, transexuals, intersexuals, etc., aren't included. The words themselves ("gay rights" and "Holocaust") both are often used to refer to one group of people while they are actually referring to many.

When has anyone who wasn't trolling ever claimed otherwise?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There are heaps of trolls on the internet, but also many many retards who actually say that legitly. Also, in real life many people think like that too.

But without the holocaust we would be missing some seriously great video games!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Without WWII we would be missing some seriously great video games. Even if Hitler didn't hate Jews, he still would have started the war.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Without the Jews to put the blame on the war never would have happened because he would have had no reason to invade Poland. It wasn't WW2 then hatred for Jews. It was hate then war. So no, he wouldn't have started the war because the people wouldn't have back him up. (He could have used another group of people but it's the same concept.)

I know the hatred for Jews came before the war, but the war was against everyone, not just Jews. The Nazis believed Germany was the greatest country in the world, and all other nations were inferior and should give their territory to the Germans (The irony is that Hitler himself was Austrian, not German). The hatred for Jewish people was another thing entirely. He could have killed the Jews but not tried to rule the world. He could have tried to rule the world but not killed the Jews.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Your missing the point here. The war would not have started without the hatred for Jews. Without this they would have had no incentive to push forward. They wanted to spread this hatred through the world.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really? That's not what I learned.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What do you suppose was his motive for controlling the world? A dictator needs ways of instilling fear.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What do you mean "motive?" If somehow you had the power to rule the world, and you wouldn't kill any innocent people, wouldn't you want to? The difference is Hitler didn't care about the innocent people part, he just wanted to rule the world whatever it took (At least that's what I always thought).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No one wants to control the world just to control the world. They want to spread some sort of thought or idea. This isn't 1984.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're right, this is 1939. I don't see your point. Like I said, I heard that Hitler convinced everyone that Germans were just better than everyone else and deserved to rule.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1984- Written by George Orwell. Great book about a dystopian society. I HIGHLY recommend it....But yes he did convince the Germans of that. But use some critical thinking. He needed a way to convince the Germans they were better. He used the Jews as a scapegoat.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not sure exactly how hating Jews convinced the Germans they were better than everyone else, but whatever. Okay, I just read the Wikipedia article for that book - it's HIGHLY unlikely that I will ever get around to reading the book itself, so I might as well see how it ends - and I'm a bit confused. So at the end, the good guys just give up? They start loving that stupid dictator guy? That seems a bit odd.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not exactly. It's more of a brainwash thing. But no, it's not a happy ending. You will probably be required to read it in school. And it works the same with sports. One team beat the crap out of another team and they suddenly think they're the best team in the world. Even if statics say otherwise.

WWII happened for a variety of reasons, mainly it was because the German's wanted more land and resources and to become a superpower like Britain or Russia, They were basically moving their imperialistic agenda. . It was also because they had some serious hate for the Allied forces of WWI who basically destroyed the German economy and land. There was also the rise of Fascism and like all political ideas (like communism later), they wanted everyone to adhere to their new ideology. The Jews became a hated group for a couple reasons too. First, Jews were considered inferior; they killed Jesus and are a race without a country. Second, The Jewish made up the richest of the rich in Germany and ran many of the banks, with the collapse of the German economy they pretty much stayed rich and the newly poor hate rich bankers. THEN, after all this Hitler managed to hit a few of the right buttons and went from simple racism to the Holocaust.
