"Blemish" sounds way less gross than "pimple", amirite?

When I hear the word blemish I think of that acne commercial where that girl is fretting over have one tiny pimple on her cheek. And she rubs the stuff on it and then she's instantly happy. Like her one pimple was SOO bad that she needed intense acne treatment to get rid of it.

I'm going to try to erase what you just said from my memory and hope I will never think of "puss bubbles" again

Well, that's because blemish is defined as a mark that spoils somethings appearance. So, though they are interchangeable words, blemish does not mean the same as pimple, therefore, it sounds better. That's a good way to take a good sounding word and use it for something gross, lol.
