-159 I think Homosexuals should be allowed to get married as long as they call it something else, because marriage is between a man and a woman, amirite?

I agree to the 1st part, but why should it be called something else? Marriage should be between any two people who love each other.

I think it shouldn't matter, Marriage is the unison of two people that love each other, it shouldn't matter what gender they are.

The dictionary defines 'marriage' as 'a close and intimate union' thus there is no reason to call it anything other than what it is, regardless of which 2 genders are getting married.

It's only between a man and a woman because you say it is. The bible is rife with examples of marriage as a man and a woman and a woman (...) and a woman.

I agree. If we can do something that simple, just changing a name, and gay people can get married, I think it's a good idea. Plus, it'll keep the people who think "marriage" is between a man and a woman happy.

Yeah well, if we did things just to make people who are fundamentally wrong happy, 'separate but equal' would still be a constitutional clause. Marraige is defined as between a man and a woman only in our legislation. Definitions in legislation can and should be re-written as society changes. We're a democracy and as our citizens evolve, so should our government.

Separate cannot be equal. Using a separate name would cause fundamental differentiation between the two (the connotations wouldn't be the same). One party would get ripped off - and it wouldn't be the majority. Equal rights requires equal treatment and equal opportunity.
