+165 You would risk your life for a stranger, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah right you all would. It's some 30-40 fat guy with sweaty pits, and you want to take a bullet for him? Just 'cause? You would never.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He didn't say take a bullet for them. He said RISK [key word]

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, say pushing him out of the way of a car, or putting yourself in front of it. I.e. "taking a bullet" for him. Because really, if there is a chance of a bad outcome in a situation, it's a high chance.

I like to think that I would, though with things like these, you honestly can't tell until the situation arises and you are left to make a snap decision.

My life isn't going anywhere, so yeah.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So long as I get sexual favors if I survive.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

All these people say they would but honestly, if they were put in the situation, they would probably be too scared to do it.

I'm selfish and have plans to achieve something meaningful in my life. So yeah, not gonna die for some stranger.

I'm gonna generalize and say that a lot of the YYA people aren't being truthful to themselves. Bystander effect. It's much more likely that they'd stand by or not know what to do than help some random person and put themselves in risk during the process. And even if they did, the motions are questionable-- are they doing it cause they feel they need to be good (heaven incentive??) or to make up for something or do they have a particularly strong "good" moral code? The last is least likely, I believe.

I'd like to YYA this, but I don't think I can. Not because I'm selfish or anything, but because I don't know how I would react if I was in a situation where I had to risk my life for someone I don't know.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

YES. Everytime I say something like this someone says "No, you wouldn't. Be real." I definitely would and I'm extremely passionate about it.

What the hell you copied me bitch

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It boils down to how high the risk is.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A family member? Yes. Anyone else? Absolutely not.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There are too many possible scenarios for me to say yes.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, but for all the wrong reasons.

People value life in general too much. It's why the world is becoming overpopulated at the rate that it is. We should focus on keeping people healthy and beneficial to the global community, not keeping people alive. Kind of an irrelevant tangent I went off on, but anyways, this is an interesting post.
