+500 It's incredibly annoying when a movie trailer manipulates the footage to make it look like something happens that doesn't actually happen in the movie, amirite?

Example?

I promise I've seen it happen at least twice, but I'm blanking right now - it's on the tip of my tongue, too... If/when it comes to me, I'll comment here again...

I don't have a specific example, but like when they show something freaky/crazy/awesome happening and then it turns out one of the characters only dreamt it. Or in the Case 39 trailer, it makes it seem like there's a demonic force tormenting the social worker and the little girl (she hides and screams), but it's actually the little girl that's evil.

That's more of a twist than being misleading, I mean you're not supposed to know the girl is evil at first so it would have ruined it to show that in the preview.

But you're not supposed to think there's a demon after her either, you're supposed to think her parents are nuts.

That is very true, I didn't think about that.

Like how they tried to make Straw Dogs seem interesting? the previews showed only the last 10 minutes of the movie

Like megamind, it played a fart sound instead of his cell phone ring to make it seam like he farted, which was just stupid
