+352 It's annoying when teachers assume you have had multiple role models or "life changing experiences", then expect you to write deep, meaningful essays about them, amirite?

So, this reminds me of these stupid essays I have to do. One of them is about a time we felt left out or lonely, which I don't know how to write 5 paragraphs about that. The other is about if we think we should be stopping illegal immigrants from Mexico into the country, which I'll just take the 0 on because I don't think that's something we should talk about in school, like religion and politics. And the the other is supposed to be a pursuasive essay on one of our pet peeves, and I have no friggin clue what I should write: "knock it off coz it bothers me. You wanna get punched in the mouth?" /endrant/

Yes! Once I had to write an essay on my favorite thing in nature. How the heck am I supposed to do that? And if you want a controversial topic, in my middle school our end of the year speech we all had to write and present was "What would you do if you were president?" Seriously. Who thinks these are good ideas?

"I like trees. They are really pretty. And strong. And you can climb them. Or put a tire swing on them. Monkeys live in them. The end." The horrible thing about the illegal immigration essay was that my school is mostly Mexican people, and a lot of them actually came from Mexico. Some of them even have illegal parents. And I'm one of the only white people at my chool. I asked my teacher for help, and he sat there for a good 20 minutes talking about how "they're uneducated and stealing our jobs and need to go back to where they came from". I got glared at when I walked back to my seat...

Also, if you did have a "life changing experience," why would you want to share that with your teacher?
