+374 somehow as a kid you weren't bothered by the massive plot holes in bad Disney movies that you could drive a truck through, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm still not bothered by them, really. As much as I can't stand contorted facts (for the Disney movies based on true stories or classic fairytales) and plot holes, Disney has a sort of free pass to do whatever they hell the want to as long as they make it good.

Even if they don't make it good

What Disney movies are you referring to? I think they do a pretty good job closing plotholes...

if you want a great example, watch "The Black Cauldron". I saw it last night and it inspired this post. There are a lot of bad Disney movies though. Even in the good ones...did you notice that the good guy never actually has to kill the bad guy? The villain always falls to his death or something like that. Not a plot hole, but very safe and predictable.

I think that the reason the good guys never actually kill the bad guys is because that's part of their "good guyness". They're too good to stoop to that level and kill. The movies are intended for a younger audience. I don't see it a problem if a four year olds hero doesn't kill people. And I'll have to watch Black Cauldron again because I haven't seen it in a while but I think of the popular Disney cartoons at least they're pretty good. Black Cauldron isn't a very popular one (and is actually quite dark for Disney if I remember right).

I'm watching Holes...I read plot holes as pot holes.

I couldn't drive anyway

The only massive hole that bothered me as a kid was your mother's vagina.

I was too busy taking in all the magic of being a kid and watching cheesy movies and being naive.

When I was little I wasn't analyzing movies, I was watching them and enjoying them. I was little, I didn't think that hard.
