Girls: you find slightly underweight guys attractive, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Underweight = unhealthy = unattractive
That's not even about appearances. He doesn't even care about his own body if he's underweight.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Finding all underweight people ugly = judgmental = unattractive
Guys don't often find judgmental girls attractive, and that's got nothing to do with appearances either.
by Anonymous12 years ago
First of all, unattractive does not mean ugly.
Second of all, I think that the way a person takes care of themselves reflects a lot on how they take care of and treat other people.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Just because Apple_Pie does not find underweight guys attractive does not mean she is judgmental. That is like saying you don't find guys with tattoos attractive, or guys with blonde hair attractive. It is an opinion about which type of guy she likes, not being judgmental.
by Anonymous12 years ago
How does that work?
He doesn't eat like a horse so he doesn't care about his body?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm assuming that when OP says underweight they don't simply mean skinny. I don't have a problem with skinny. When I hear underweight, I think of ribs poking. I think of anorexia. Which is definitely unhealthy.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm technically underweight but I'm not anorexic. Just because I have a fast metabolism doesn't mean I'm unhealthy.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yeah I have a fast metabolism and I weigh 90kg. Metabolism is not the sole factor. It is a ratio of metabolism and food ingested.
I accept of your argument and concede that I did not read the post closely enough.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Because everybody with anorexia just looooves having anorexia and being ridiculed by people like you. It's a disorder that a lot of people //need help// with. Try being a little more considerate.
Also, not all extremely skinny people are anorexic. I know several people who just don't gain weight. No matter what they eat, they stay the same weight.
by Anonymous12 years ago
How is saying anorexia is unhealthy ridiculing anyone? How is that inconsiderate? How is that denying the validity of the disorder?
by Anonymous12 years ago
"He doesn't even care about his own body if he's underweight."
How do you know a person doesn't care about their own body if they're underweight? Maybe they're taking every measure they possibly can to gain but nothing is working.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Dude, she wasn't ridiculing anyone. Anorexia is unhealthy. That is a fact.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I realize it's not healthy but it's a disorder that people need help with.
by Anonymous12 years ago
She never said anything bad about the disorder or say anything to diminish the seriousness of it.
by Anonymous12 years ago
She was making assumptions about all anorexic and extremely skinny people.
by Anonymous12 years ago
What, that being underweight is unhealthy and she personally, in her own opinion, finds it unattractive?
by Anonymous12 years ago
What assumption was I making?
Cite your sources.

"He doesn't even care about his own body if he's underweight."
Here, you make the assumption that 'he doesn't care about his own body'.
"Second of all, I think that the way a person takes care of themselves reflects a lot on how they take care of and treat other people."
Here, you're assuming that people who don't care about their own bodies, don't care about other people's well being either.

Maybe I should clear up my connotation of the word 'underweight.'
People who eat a ton of food and don't pack on the pounds are skinny. But you look at them, and they still look healthy. When I hear the word 'underweight' I automatically think of people starving themselves for one reason or another. Which is, in fact, unhealthy. I don't find unhealthy people attractive. Again, I am not saying that anorexia isn't serious, and I am not ridiculing people who have it. I am simply say that it does not appeal to my personal sense of aesthetics.
And I maintain that a person who doesn't take care of their own body doesn't respect their own personal well-being. If a guy doesn't respect his body, then I assume (yes, assume) that he will not respect mine. I expect a certain level of apathy towards my physical well-being from such a person.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Oh, look. Someone reasonable. :)
by Anonymous12 years ago
Haha, yes. It's ok. I don't find underweight guys attractive either.
by Anonymous12 years ago
i realize you've already gotten a lot of crap for your comments, so I'm sorry, but I just want to point out that ribs showing/poking does not necessarily mean underweight. I'm near the top of the average weight category for BMI, and my ribs show when I lift up my shirt. Although if by "poking" you mean the ribs are severely defined against the skin, then yes I understand that it doesn't look attractive.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yes. That is indeed what I meant.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I like my men with chub thank you. Bone thin has absolutely no social value.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Hmm, maybe this is a slightly underweight guy that was trying to boost his self-esteem; if so, yikes.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Ever since I created the post I am now "normal" according to several ways of weighing yourself. So nothing to worry about anymore.
