BALUT is delicious

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really!!? It looks really weird but I can't really judge since I have never tried it. Do they even sell it in the States?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, they sell them in some Asian supermarkets. I only eat the chick if I am feeling brave, but other than that I eat the yolk.

I have to admit, I was a bit grossed out when I first heard about it, but I'd still give a try.

And durian!

I realized my comment is promoting cannibalism so I will now take it back.

I would eat weird food to respect their culture, and also because I love trying new odd foods. Lol, I remember talking to DanielJames on MSN, and he was amazed that people in Australia ate kangaroo meat. :/ He even told his girlfriend :/

Kangaroo meat? Is that like deer meat for Strayans?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it's called kanga, and it's actually healthier and better for the environment than beef - kanga is really low in fat and has lots of protein, plus kangaroo farms create less methane or whatever than cow farms. Kanga sausages are called kanga bangas: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2l-YOxvxJ1Y/TeNaoBR4KQI/AAAAAAAAAAM/UwRGQeHmWYw/s1600/kanga+bangas.jpg

Cows aren't deer and you don't farm them. You shoot them yourself.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know that, that's why I said "no". Well, kinda - like, we do have kangaroo farms, just like cow farms, but we also have to cull kangaroos unfortunately, but I dunno if those end up as kanga.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I would at least try it. If I don't like it then I won't eat it all just out of respect.

It says there's 11 comments, but there are only 4.

Simon had commented on the post, but because he's banned the comments and replys were deleted.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's weird, you'd think the number they showed you would change too. At least, I'd think. But then later be proven wrong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Simon is banned...? :(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Don't knock it 'til you try it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I would try it, but I'm not going to eat it if it tastes like shit. Sorry.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I would try the food. But, I'm sorry, there's a limit as to what I'll eat.

When I was in Thailand, they were selling cooked insects. My mum was trying to get me to eat them for the "experience" but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to want that experience.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

since im vegetarian i have safe excuse to refuse "exotic" animal treats, but i might try thinks like baked tree bark if there was such a thing?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'd try a little and see if I liked it or not. But, I'd most probably just eat the rice and stuff I'm familiar with that the meal was cooked with and spread the rest of the food around the plate so it would look as if I ate.

I would eat their weird food because in my experience the weird food can be pretty delicious
