I love pineapple, but it makes my throat all scratchy (and it burns a little) and makes swallowing feel weird. I realized just this year that I am allergic, but I still eat it sometimes because it's not that bad.

It kind of makes my mouth sting if I eat quite a lot. I asked someone about it and they said it's because pineapple has flesh eating qualities. I don't know how accurate that it though...

The amount of people who appear to be allergic to pineapple surprises me.

See link^
Or it could just be that it's acidic, I dunno about actually digesting them in the amount of time it takes to eat one.

I'm allergic to pineapple. It really sucks. I used to love pineapple, but now my tongue starts to swell, even if I have just one piece. It does get a painful feeling too and my sense of taste goes away for a little bit.
