Global warming won't end the world. We people will be screwed, sure, but the world's a tough broad. She's seen worse.

Really, all global warming will do is shift the climate zones north and south. Desert zones will expand north/south, the tropical zone will go further north/south, the temperate zone will go further north/south, the polar regions will go further north/south (and once it can't go north or south any further, it disappears), etc. Oh, and sea levels rise which will suck for the highly populated coastal cities.

Deserts on the side of mountain ranges opposite the ocean are not going to move because of the rain shadow effect.
