Your math teacher only assigns evens or odds, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
usually evens, cause odds are in the back
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's kind of useless. How can you make sure you're doing the work right if you don't even know if your answer is right?

"If you want to know if you're doing it right, try the odd problems and check your answer in the back."
Some teachers know you would just copy the answers as your homework.

Except there isn't always an odd equivalent of an even problem. Math teachers should realty check the work, not the answers.

We go through and grade it in class then learn from our mistakes and review it and take a mini-quiz on the homework due that day then a test on the last class's homework. If we made a mistake the whole class goes over it to help.

That sounds like it doesn't leave much time to actually learn new material.

We have 80 minute classes.

We have 95 minute classes and my math teacher still talks faster than anyone can understand her because she doesn't think we have enough time
by Anonymous12 years ago
She teaches two lessons then assigns us eight homework problems if we even have any to begin with and we usually finish what we do have in class

Funny thing. He usually assigns both. [The odd problems have answers in the back of the book.] However, when I actually need the answers to make sure my stupid homework is being done right because I'm pretty much guessing at everything...... he doesn't assign the odd problems.
Fabulous.

Mine assigns primes.

O.o
by Anonymous12 years ago
Mine assigns odds as "class work" and evens as "homework". Even though we have literally 2-3 minutes left when he assigns the work so it's all homework anyway.

We don't have a textbook in my math class, so it's usually handouts or projects for homework.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Our textbooks have the answers for all questions in the back, so my teacher just chose the best questions for us to do.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Sometimes my teacher will come up with some bs like "problems 12 + 4n where n = integers 1-5". That way we have to do some math before we do the math. Yay.

My teacher does EOE or EOO.

My teacher does perfect squares, or the sun of the ordered pairs that fit this equation. One time he assigned us calculus problem to solve for the numbers we needed to do It's quite complicated. Half the class ends up doing the wrong questions.
